ATNOVIX is the data controller within the meaning of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Scope of this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to:
- Visitors of our website
- Clients and business contacts
- Individuals acting on behalf of customers, suppliers, or partners
- Users of our services, including engineering, R&D, prototyping, embedded software, electronics development, and consultancy services
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide to Us
We may collect personal data that you voluntarily provide, including:
- Contact information: name, company name, address, email address, telephone number
- Account or project-related information: project details, technical requirements, specifications, documentation
- Communications: emails, messages, attachments, meeting notes, support requests
- Billing and administrative information: invoicing details, VAT number, payment references
Payment details are processed via third-party payment providers. ATNOVIX does not store full payment card or banking details on its own systems.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you visit our website, the server of our hosting provider records in its log files:
- IP address
- Browser type and version
- Operating system
- Referring URLs and pages visited
- Date and time of access
These log files are used only for security and troubleshooting and are deleted automatically by the hosting provider. This website does not use analytics tools. The only cookie it sets itself is a functional cookie that remembers your language choice (see section 6). In the EEA, an IP address may qualify as personal data under GDPR.
2.3 Information Related to Client Projects & Development Work
When ATNOVIX performs development or engineering work for clients, we may process:
- Technical documentation
- Schematics, source code, firmware, designs, and prototypes
- Test data and measurement results
- System logs and diagnostic data
Such data may contain confidential or commercially sensitive information. ATNOVIX processes this data solely for the purpose of executing the agreed services and in accordance with contractual obligations (including NDAs where applicable).
2.4 Information from Third Parties
We may receive information from:
- Business partners or subcontractors involved in a project
- Publicly available sources (e.g. company registers)
2.5 Contact Form
When you use the contact form on this website, we process your name, your e-mail address, the content of your message, and the IP address from which the form was sent. The IP address is used only to limit the number of submissions and to prevent abuse. Your message is sent by e-mail to info@atnovix.com and handled by ATNOVIX. We keep contact form messages until your question has been dealt with; if you become a client, the correspondence becomes part of the client file.
2.6 Client Data Processed on Behalf of Clients
When ATNOVIX develops firmware, software or systems for a client that process personal data of the client's own users (for example logging, test data or field data), the client is the data controller and ATNOVIX acts as data processor. In that case we conclude a data processing agreement with the client and process the data only on the client's documented instructions.
3. How We Use Information
We use personal data for the following purposes:
- To provide, operate, and maintain our Services
- To execute engineering, development, and consultancy agreements
- To communicate with clients and business contacts
- To process quotations, orders, and invoices
- To improve our Services, tools, and workflows
- To ensure security, integrity, and availability of our systems
- To comply with legal, tax, and regulatory obligations
- To prevent fraud, abuse, or misuse of our Services
We do not sell personal data.
4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
We process personal data based on one or more of the following legal grounds:
- Performance of a contract
- Legitimate interests, such as operating our business and improving services
- Legal obligations (e.g. tax and accounting laws)
- Consent, where explicitly required
If we require personal data to meet a legal or contractual obligation, this will be made clear at the time of collection.
5. How We Share Information
We may share personal data only when necessary and limited to:
- Service providers (e.g. hosting, e-mail, IT, accounting)
- Subcontractors involved in project execution (under confidentiality obligations)
- Legal or regulatory authorities, when required by law
- Business transfers, such as mergers or asset transfers
All third parties are required to handle personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
Our website and e-mail are hosted by mijndomein in the Netherlands, so personal data is stored within the European Union. If a service provider or production partner outside the EEA is involved in a project (for example a manufacturing platform), personal data is only transferred with appropriate safeguards, such as the EU standard contractual clauses, and we inform you when that is the case.
6. Cookies and Analytics
This website does not use analytics tools. It sets one cookie itself: "atnovix-lang", a functional cookie that remembers whether you chose the Dutch or the English version of the site. It contains no personal data, is kept for one year, and needs no consent. The only other exception is the Google Maps map in the footer of the homepage, which is loaded from Google's servers. When the map loads, Google may set cookies and process your IP address; Google's privacy policy applies to that. If you do not want this, block third-party cookies in your browser. The rest of the website works without them.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including:
- Invoices and other financial records: 7 years, as required by Dutch tax law
- Project documentation, designs, test data and correspondence: 5 years after delivery, so that we can answer warranty and liability questions
- Contact form messages: until your question has been dealt with, or as part of the client file if you become a client
- Other data: for the duration of the client relationship
When data is no longer required, it is securely deleted or anonymized.
8. Data Security
ATNOVIX implements appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.
Please note that no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
9. Your Rights Under GDPR
If you are located in the EEA, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct or update your data
- Request deletion of your data
- Restrict or object to processing
- Request data portability
- Withdraw consent (where applicable)
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
You can exercise these rights by contacting us at info@atnovix.com.
10. Children's Privacy
ATNOVIX only provides services to businesses and professional parties. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 16.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on our website. Material changes will be communicated where required.
